Happy Anniversary Pink Velvet!

Pink Velvet's 4 year anniversary passed. We had a record number of traffic on this day with 36,748 on reported grid stats. Our previous record tip total was smashed for the day, as well. I won't publish that stat here, but I'll say it's probably the highest book closing the club has ever seen and may see for a while. Congrats to our team and Pamela McCullough, co-owner, who has been a critical aspect of the continuity and success of this idea!

Pink Velvet Club Still Here!

I grazed on this before, but I want to talk about it again. Our 4 year anniversary is coming up! It was a cold January, in 2009, when 2 dancers where standing in an empty lot trying to figure out how to unpack the first prefab club which would become the Pink Velvet Club. Just a few weeks prior, Misticia Moonwall meets Eri Michalski in another strip and dance club that was popular at the time, now gone. Yes, we had fun dancing there. I have not seen Eri in some years now. Hope she is well wherever she is. The 4 year anniversary for Pink Velvet is this December 10th. We've moved a few times during the course of the years. 4 more years?

I’m looking back and thinking what a great 4 years I had operating a venue in SL. Most people that know me, know me for having created the Pink Velvet Club. Very few know me as anything more. While I’m thankful for the recognition for it, there are still many other things I would like to do.
I arrived in Second Life on December 13th, 2008. I completely fell in love with it. The people, the places, the things people make in there. I was lucky enough to make my own contribution to the grid and I am honored by the following this club has built up, but I want to do more.
I’ve found that the best experiences in Second Life come from unique ideas that are expressed straight from the heart. Through talent and sweat, spattered right unto the digital canvas Linden Labs lays out for everyone. I don’t consider myself an artist, but I’ve always felt a personal, poetic energy in my works. A special connection through the ideas I wanted to bring to life and the people that would come to support them.
In the coming months, I look forward to creating more things. Bringing more concepts to life. Expanding my reach within the Second Life community. I have more things I want to contribute. To that end, I have been taking note of some of the other great talent that is out there. Not just creative people, but those also interested in helping create new ideas and add more content to the grid. I want to work with like-minded people.
I am posting this as my little personal call to arms. To remind myself of my ambitions. To gather even more energy and more momentum on the grid, so that I may become a more effective content creator not just on my own, but with some of the most creative minds I can find. I don’t know if I will be able to complete all the things I have on my agenda. Who knows if I will even be able to start a next idea. I have to try, though. So I’ve decided to post updates on my little journey. I don’t promise I will post here every day, but I should be dropping updates often enough.
